Union Dues Increase

Brothers and Sisters:

The recently ratified National Agreement provides for rate increases of 3% effective July

1, 2020, 3.5% effective July 1, 2021, and 7% effective 7/1/2022. Therefore, in

accordance with Article IX, Sec. 2 of the Bylaws of System Council 16, the per capita

will increase from the current $49.25 to $55.75 effective January 1, 2023. This increase

was calculated as follows:

• Current rate - $49.25 ($46.25 per capita tax + $2.00 convention fund + $1.00

Railroad Coordinating Council)

• 07/01/2020 - $46.25 + 3% = $47.65 (rounded)

• 07/01/2021 - $47.65 + 3.5% = $49.30 (rounded)

• 07/01/2022 - $49.30 + 7% = $52.75 (rounded) + $2.00 convention fund + $1.00

Railroad Coordinating Council= $55.75

Please notify all members in your local union concerning this dues increase. In addition,

you must notify the Carrier to increase their payroll deduction. Each financial secretary

is responsible for collecting and forwarding all per capita payments to the System

Council in a timely manner.
