Transportation Trades Department) News Release

Sisters and Brothers, Good evening and hope all is well. Below please find an AFL-CIO “TTD (Transportation Trades Department) News Release” announcing the FRA’s decision denying KCSR’s request to outsource brake inspections on KCS freight trains running from Mexico into the US. Unfortunately, the decision does not address the issue of Mexican train crews running the trains into our country. We’ll continue to fight that issue. All of Rail Labor, through the coordination of the TTD, fought this battle on behalf of our members. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the TTD staff, under the leadership of TTD President Larry Willis, for doing a great job with this, as they do with all of Transportation Labor issues. The battle to stop Mexican crews from operating in the US will continue. If we hear anything further on this we will update you. Please share this vital information with your members. Fraternally and in Solidarity, Bill Bohné, Jr. Director - IBEW Railroad Department
